Welwyn Garden City Orchestra & Chorus
WELWYN GARDEN CITY ORCHESTRA & CHORUSWelwyn Garden City Music Society To be held at St Francis Church, Parkway, Welwyn Garden City AL8 6HH on Monday evenings for 6 weeks, from 8 February to 15 March inclusive. Welwyn Garden City Music Society is one of only 7 choirs from around the UK chosen to run a FREE 6-week course to teach people from the area to sing. This project is being funded by the Arts Council England, and is run in partnership with Choir Of The Year and the British Association of Barbershop Singers. Participants will be taught the basics of singing, including how to look after the voice and sing in harmony through to performance skills and rhythm and voice development across a range of different styles of music from rock and pop through to the classics. This is a chance to learn to sing with confidence and discover the fun of group singing (no previous singing experience required!), and is also an opportunity to meet new people. After the 6 weeks, the newly formed choir may find themselves auditioning for Choir Of The Year! The course in Welwyn Garden City will be on 6 consecutive Monday nights, from 8 February to 15 March. The final evening ends with a mini concert followed by refreshments, when friends and families are invited to come along to the performance! If you are interested in taking part then please contact learn2sing@wgcms.org.uk (or telephone 01707 321922) as early as possible, to request an application form
